Bottom Button Getting Really Hot. Normal?

Postby CharmingVapes1 » Fri Apr 19, 2013 6:12 pm

So I recently got my first mod ( gus telescopic ) and I notice the bottom button gets kinda/really warm after a while. To the point when I kinda don't wana vape CuHz it's too hot? Is that normal. Should I buy a 2cents for safety?

Or a bad connection spring to battery, clean the spring where it contacts the battery with a scourer or bit of metal polish to see if it helps

Check out your hot spring on Gus. Is it black or darker??? Wire could be touching the body or faulty connector.
I am sorry , i do not use fiber attys much. Maybe someone who use them more can solve your problem

Your button is losing current.. You should clean all the parts in the switch as well as the contacts.

I cleaned it today. Oh my so much gunk build up. I bought it used that's why. Now the threads are buttery smooth. And not as hot but still warm tho. Where ca I buy a 18650 battery charger for cheap in US?

If memory serves me correct, the spring in the Gus is kinda bad, so the heating might come from that.. Maybe you should try to find a good brass or silver/gold plated spring to replace the original, if the heating bothers you (keep in mind that any heat that is not coming from the coil is away from the atty and also drains the battery more).
I have no personal experience with the Gus, but this is what i remember reading from the forums.. If somebody has more precise info feel free to correct me. :D

Dont have a gus myself but its worth looking to see if a silver bullet hot spring will fit in there, that should solve any spring heating problems for you :ugeek:

I wouldn't say it's a spring more like a push pop typa deal. The bottom button pushes up this brass piece that makes the connection and around that is a black rubber piece so it's batter doesn't touch the brass piece
